Filter Vuvuzelas in MediaPortal

Watching the first games of the Soccer World Cup in South Africa I could ignore the annoying permanent sound of the vuvuzelas. But after some matches I was fed up with these sounds and searched for a better solution than turning the sound totally off.

And I found a solution!

Inspired by the zattoo+vuvuzela post on aptgetupdate.de I looked for a solution with MediaPortal since my HTPC is driven by MediaPortal. And in fact – some other guy solved that problem: Vuvuzela filter with ffdshow and Mediaportal.

The post is in german but the screenshots should explain the whole procedure.

Nice! Now I can hear some fans cheering!

I must admit this method does not turn off the noise of the vuvuzelas completely but they are piped down now! Yay!
